Litigation Team
The team acts in the most complex, high-value and reputationally significant disputes and investigations in the Australian market. They frequently assist with the Australian component of major international disputes and have the capacity to conduct matters in jurisdictions throughout Australia and the Asia region.
The wider Disputes & Investigations group works without borders, so you will be able to work on matters in any jurisdiction. This will give you variety in the work that you do and the ability to work with many parts of the firm, each with unique backgrounds and life experiences.
Position Description
Your role within the team will include advising the firm’s clients on a range of litigation including commercial and contractual disputes, regulatory inquiries and investigations, corporate crime, internal investigations, Royal Commissions / Commissions of Inquiry/coronial inquests, class actions, risk and compliance advisory and arbitration.
You will also be involved in aspects of regulatory reform and advising on the new enforcement approaches by regulators across a range of industries.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the appropriate level of post-qualification experience (5-8 years’ PQE in a City, major regional or leading international firm) and have broad exposure across a range of disputes and litigation. More specifically:
- Experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution and / or regulatory investigations.
- An ability to effectively manage larger matters.
- An ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.
- A willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks.
