Finance Team
The client’s global private funds groups located in London, New York, AsiaPac and Continental Europe work seamlessly together and alongside the specialist global funds tax and regulatory teams.
The team is extremely friendly and collegiate. In addition, they work closely with colleagues in the firm’s transactional private equity, real estate and energy and infrastructure groups.
Position Description
In this role you will advise managers throughout the fund life cycle including fund establishment, structuring and marketing as well as ongoing operational issues, secondary transactions and fund restructuring mandates.
You will focus on (i) closed-ended private equity, real estate, infrastructure and debt/credit fundraisings; (ii) secondaries (portfolio sales and GP-led mandates); and (iii) advising certain major institutional investors on their participation in private funds.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong private fund formation background. In addition to top level technical skills in fund formation, the candidate will be highly experienced in negotiation of fund terms both with fund managers and investors and an excellent communicator
More specifically:
- structuring/marketing the fund arrangements
- Running the day-to-day aspects of a number of fundraisings and other matters, including supervision of juniors and additional resource (e.g. paralegal team and legal project managers)
- drafting fund documents, liaising with specialists and local counsel where needed
- Experience in running negotiations/meetings under minimal supervision
