Henley Reid are partnering with one of the largest global law firms operating in Perth, who are looking to hire a new Senior Associate to join their litigation practice.

Our Client

Our client has a very strong litigation practice made up of 2 Partners who cover a broad range of regulatory, energy, competition and commercial disputes across the Supreme and Federal Courts.

The Opportunity

Given our client’s growth in Perth, this is a great career opportunity for a private practice lawyer with at least 5 years’ PAE to work directly with the Partners, while offering a clear progression pathway to Partner. You will work closely with the Partners, focusing on the following areas:

• Alternative dispute resolution
• Resolving disputes and regulatory matters through mediations and negotiations
• Arbitrations
• Expert determinations
• Litigation in the Federal and Supreme Courts across Australia, including the Australian Competition Tribunal

You will be representing a client base made up of global and Australian energy businesses, regulatory bodies, and multinational corporates.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Litigation Group, you will be working with leading Partners on a range of complex dispute resolution matters and will be expected to take carriage of such matters with minimal supervision.

You will work closely with clients from a range of backgrounds, on litigation matters that are high in profile and value, and will be eager to get involved with business development activities. You will also be supervising and mentoring Associates in the team.

Skills & Experience

This role will require the following skills and experience:

• A strong background in commercial litigation or competition law from another international or national law firm
• An interest in being client facing, with ambitions to advance your career
• At least 5 years’ post admission experience.
