Finance Team
The MENA banking and finance practice represents banks, investment banks, financial institutions and corporate clients in a wide range of financing transactions, drawing on expertise from the corporate, real estate, construction and insurance practice groups. The practice is particularly well regarded for its market leading Islamic Finance expertise and its ability to advise on complex cross-border finance transactions.
The firm specialises in finance matters across its offices in the UAE, Qatar, KSA and United Kingdom. They advise on local law issues within the region without appointing external counsel and as such are very familiar with local and international nuances when completing high value and complex transactions.
Position Description
The role is to work with the partners to manage a caseload of Islamic Finance and conventional finance matters and assist regional and international banks, financial institutions, customers and borrowers with a wide range of finance.
You will also be advising clients on options for structuring Shariah compliant transactions and products and assisting with the drafting of Islamic Finance agreements, loan agreements, security documents and other related agreements.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the appropriate level of post-qualification experience (0-4 years’ PQE in a City, major regional or leading international firm) and have broad exposure across a range of high value and/or complex transactions. More specifically:
- Qualified England & Wales lawyer
- Having a good grasp of UAE, KSA and English law matters as applicable
- Regional experience would be an advantage. In the absence of regional experience, the candidates must demonstrate a genuine desire and commitment to working on a variety of matters and across different jurisdictions.
- A strong academic background, including a minimum of a 2:1 from a reputable university
