Finance Team
This is a market leading Finance team that is a core practice area of the firm, originating significant deal mandates in its own right and managing many of the firms most significant client relationships.
Whilst the team has a strong profile in lender-side mandates in large cap and leading corporate and leverage finance roles, the firm has in recent years been building its sponsor and borrower side practice. The firm is committed to doing so as this is anticipated to be an area of significant growth potential.
Position Description
You will have experience in drafting and settling the core finance documents in cashflow financings structures, including corporate finance and acquisition finance. You will have a sound grasp of the fundamentals of bid financing processes and familiarity with the APLMA and LMA loan market precedents relevant to this area.
You will also have an ability to work to tight deadlines when required and enjoy the professional fulfilment of playing a role as a lawyer in a team working on leading financial transactions that are benchmark deals in the Australian market.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the appropriate level of post-qualification experience (2-4 years’ PQE in a City, major regional or leading international firm) and have broad exposure across a range of high value and/or complex transactions. More specifically:
- 2-4 years’ global loans experience with a focus on corporate finance and acquisition/leveraged finance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills.
- The ability to be team-focused and provide leadership and mentoring to the juniors in the team whilst also work independently.
