The team regularly advises bidders, targets, sellers and financial advisers and its advice covers all types of public company M&A including schemes and takeovers as well as private treaty M&A including asset acquisitions and divestments, joint venture arrangements and restructures.

Position Description
The role will have you involved in the drafting and reviewing of legal documents and agreements, including (by way of example) merger implementation agreements, pre-bid agreements, sale and purchase agreements, subscription agreements, and underwriting agreements, as well as disclosure documents such as bidder’s and target’s statements, scheme booklets and prospectuses.
You will also have the opportunity to be leading negotiations with counterparties as well as preparing formal legal opinions and taking part in matter completion and post-closing work.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the appropriate level of post-qualification experience (2-4 years’ PQE in a City, major regional or leading international firm) and have broad exposure across a range of high value and/or complex transactions. More specifically:
- At least 2 years’ legal experience gained within a top-tier firm or by a combination of top-tier and in-house
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Superior drafting ability
- A commercial approach and an ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
