The Opportunity
Given our client’s growth in Sydney, this is a great career opportunity for a private practice lawyer with at least 2 years’ PAE to join this practice. You will work closely with other lawyers, seniors, and Partners in the team on a range of corporate disputes, gaining exposure in the following areas:
· Commercial disputes
· Regulatory investigations
· Takeovers
· Insolvency
· Competition
· Corporate Governance
· White Collar crime
You will be representing a sophisticated client base across a range of sectors, ranging from financial institutions, Australian and international corporates, and government entities.
Responsibilities
As a member of the commercial litigation and dispute resolution practice group, you will be working with leading Partners and Seniors on a range of complex disputes, and will be involved with drafting correspondence, preparing advice, evidence, and assisting with proceedings.
You will regularly be acting for private and public companies on a diverse range of contentious disputes, including criminal cartel proceedings, class actions, insolvency, regulatory investigations, restructurings, and general commercial litigation. This firm operate a relatively flat structure, so you will gain significant exposure to clients and will be involved with relationship building and business development activities.
Skills & Experience
This role will require the following skills and experience:
· A strong background in litigation, ideally from a top tier or highly regarded national law firm;
· Ability to manage complex disputes, while being able to deliver commercial outcomes for clients;
· An interest in developing client relationships, acting as a business partner for clients that are looking to resolve complex disputes;
· A strong academic background;
· At least 2 years’ post admission experience.
